Barbara Dolci is Executive Director of the International Visitors Council of Greater Kansas City, a non-profit organization hosting exchange programs from the United States Department of State and other government agencies. 

 

Barbara has been serving with KCIVC since 1998, during which time she has received two prestigious awards.  In November of 2008 she was awarded a Certificate of Recognition for Exceptional Support to the Open World Program.  That same fall the Crescent Peace Society awarded her Community Service Award for civic leadership and the promotion of understanding, tolerance and acceptance of religious and cultural diversity. 

 

She is past President of Greater Kansas City People to People, and has hosted international officers from the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth for the past 17 years. As part of this program she and her family have sponsored international officers and their families from Saudi Arabia, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Jordan, United Kingdom, Argentina, Korea, Ukraine, Canada, Mexico, Turkmenistan,  Egypt, Belgium, Iraq, Colombia, Australia, and Tanzania during their year long stays. 

Prior to working at KCIVC she was responsible for training of volunteers and leadership development as director of religious education for the Presbyterian Church USA. She also taught public school for 6 years. Barbara holds an MA in Religious Education and a BA in Education from the University of Louisiana. 

 

In addition to her work at KCIVC, Barbara serves on the Advisory Committee of Kansas City Kansas Community College in addition to the Advisory Board for Sister Cities International of Kansas City. She is an active member of Rotary Club 13. Barbara is also a member of Central Exchange and the Interfaith Council of Greater Kansas City. Barbara has traveled to numerous countries, and has opened up her home as a home-stay host to countless visitors traveling from around the world.

Officers

President
Ross P. Marine, DHL, MHA currently serves as President of the International Visitors Council Board of Directors. He is President of the Murino Group Ltd. a Healthcare and Management Resource Services Consulting Company, Kansas City Missouri. During his health care career he has held a number of senior financial and management positions in the United States as well at the international level. Additionally Mr. Marine serves as Director of Fund Development, Marketing, and Community Relations for Our Lady of Mercy Country Home Retirement Center, Liberty, Missouri. He is very active in a number of civic, community and international organizations in the metro Kansas City region.  He currently serves as the Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic for the Midwest region of the United States (Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma), and is a member of the Diplomatic Consular Corps of Greater Kansas City.

Vice President
Tom Mitchell, MBA, is the Director of Plant Operations at Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center, the second largest Federally Qualified Health Center in the Kansas City area. The health center is the provider of choice for most of the city's ethnic minority and immigrant populations.  The center provides adult medicine, pediatric, women's health, dental and behavioral heath services, employing 15 full time interpreters speaking 11 different languages. Prior to joining Samuel Rodgers, Tom worked for 15 years at Truman Medical Center - Lakewood, one of the "Top 100" public hospital/health centers in the country.
 

Secretary
Christine Hughes currently serves as Secretary of the Kansas City International Visitors Council Board of Directors.  She is a Certified Paralegal and Certified Professional Legal Secretary and received her Paralegal Certificate from William Jewell College. She is a columnist for The Daily Record, Editorial Chair of the @Law Magazine, on the Board of Ethics for the City of Independence, Missouri, and an officer of the Fort Osage Daughters of the American Revolution.  She has been active in KCIVC for over ten years, both as a home hospitality volunteer and a Board member.

Treasurer
Michael B. Wood has been involved in international activities since the early 1960s. He has been involved with the IVC for several years and has been on the Board of several other local and international non-profits. He is retired from the health administration faculty at UMKC's Bloch School of Business and Public Administration.

 

 
Directors
 
Stan Warner is President of Jemor Farms Inc. producing grain crops and beef cattle, and has provided business consulting for the past 16 years, most recently in Afghanistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates and Russia. He is President of Global Community Outreach, a relief organization currently working in Mexico and Guatemala, and  has worked and/or visited in 27 countries and 49 of the United States. Stan is a past president of the International Visitors Council.
 
Dr. Judith K. Vogelsang:   Physician, Medical Consultant, Internal Medicine; Honorary Consul, Republic of Croatia, Kansas and Missouri; Member of the Greater Kansas City Consular Corps;  Greater Kansas City  Chamber of Commerce; Commissioner for Croatia, Ethnic Enrichment Commission Kansas City Missouri; Member International Relations Council Kansas City; Board member of National Federation of Croatian Americans; Greater Kansas City Area Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts.  Service on past boards include  University of St. Mary, Leavenworth, Kansas, and Research Hospital, Kansas City Missouri. 
 
Robert Evans, Jr. is the Honorary Consul of Chile for Missouri and Kansas and is employed as  Vice President of Allied Mortgage Group,  Kansas City, MO. He holds a EMBA from Rockhurst University and received  BA in Foreign Languages form UMKC.  He has extensive undergraduate studies in Spain and France. Robert was the host of community-based  Spanish Talk Radio program “En Tu Casa” for over two years.  Robert serves as Honorary Consul of The Republic of Chile and is a member of the Diplomatic Consular Corps of Greater Kansas City.
 
Dixie Henderson, President, Shabobba International, LLC joined in partnership, 2004, with Donald Greenhaus Inc., & GFP. The NYC-based enterprise, a global art business, has existed for more than 50 years  exporting prints & fine art photography to private, corporate, & museum collectors; film, TV, digital media and publishing companies.  Henderson is on the Board of Directors of the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists (AFTRA), the Board of Directors of the Greater Kansas City International Trade Council (ITC) serving as Chairperson of Grant Writing and has served on the Board of Directors, Academy of Finance (AOF) - KC Chapter, for 15 years. Shabobba® conducts youth workshops for ITC, AOF, and 4-H career development initiatives.
 
Bernard Brown, immediate past President of the Board, is an attorney in a private practice dedicated exclusively to handling consumer protection cases.  He has traveled extensively and lived in other countries, has served as an international election observer, and has been deeply moved by all of those experiences. He delights in the down-to-earth and one-on-one visits that the State Department’s IVC program promotes, and believes that the Kansas City area offers some of the best of American character for our visitors.
 
Greg Kratofil Jr. is a technology lawyer and partner with Polsinelli Shughart PC.  He provides legal counsel on a wide variety of matters for today's technology companies, including startup formation and venture capital financing, intellectual property based joint ventures, copyright and trademark protection, software development and licensing, as well as drafting and reviewing various hosting, consulting, procurement, network, and systems development contracts.  Drawing on his technology and business background, Kratofil takes on the role as general counsel for a number of the region's new and developing technology businesses.
 
Sally Bibb is an active Rotarian and spends considerable time volunteering, serving on planning committees, and fundraising. Upon moving to the Kansas City area, she received an MBA from Rockhurst College, worked for TWA and Worldspan, and then joined Transamerica Life Insurance in 1994 as Director of Education & Training. After a few years of retirement, Sally and her husband Bob started a new engineering firm, Bibb Engineers, and for the past five years she has served as Director of Human Resources & Marketing. She is currently working with Rotary leaders in South Africa to plan a visit by Missouri Rotarians to Cape Town with the purpose of reviewing and selecting projects that could be implemented together.
 
Sharon Johnson is Vice President/Treasurer of Industrial Marketing and Communications at Hedlund and Associates, Inc. She graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City with a BA in Studio Art, and then completed a MPA in policy and planning . She is very involved in her community, as she is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Kansas City People to People, a board member at Large for the Kansas City Worker Justice Center and is on the Member Advisory Council for the Harriman Jewell Fine Arts Program.
 
Rebecca Lang is currently Assistant Vice President/Loan Review Officer at UMB Bank. She completed her MBA from UMKC, is fluent in German and is heavily involved in the community, including involvment in the City of Merriam, Kansas, Tree Board, Greater Kansas City Women’s Political Caucus and Northeast Johnson County [Kansas] Chamber of Commerce, just to name a few. She enjoys hosting international visitors and has organized many visits to her employer, UMB Bank.
 
R. Scott Macintosh is a multimedia consultant and freelance journalist. He founded Crying Jag Solutions in Kansas City in 2008 and is a frequent contributor to the International Herald Tribune (IHT) and The New York Times online.  His specialities include technology, real estate and development, business, arts and culture and travel. 
 
David Smith is a teacher of French at Congress Middle School. He loves bringing much of the world into his classroom. He also works as the game day field operations manager for the Kansas City Wizards soccer team, where he is currently finishing his 14th season with the team. His undergraduate studies were in Communication and French at the University of Missouri, followed by a Master's Degree in French Education at Rockhurst University in Kansas City. He is currently finishing a second Master's Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at Missouri Western State University. 


Greg  Cotton
c
urrently serves as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Sporting Club, the parent company of Sporting Kansas City.  Having previously received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from University of Missouri in St. Louis, Cotton studied law at the University of Missouri in Kansas City where he served as a Literary Editor of the Law Review. Greg has called Kansas City home for over 35 years and is deeply committed to the city and its athletic and business communities. Greg serves on the boards of the Kansas City, Kansas Chamber of Commerce as well as the Providence St. John’s Medical Center Foundation Board. Greg regularly guest lectures on the topic of economic development, sports law, and sports and economics at UMKC, University of Kansas, Kansas State, Washburn, as well as other educational institutions and corporate events. 

William A. Everett is Professor of Musicology and Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Curriculum. He holds degrees from Texas Tech University (B.M., music theory), Southern Methodist University (M.M., music history, instrumental conducting), and the University of Kansas (Ph.D., musicology). He teaches graduate courses in medieval music, American Music Theater, music and national identity, nineteenth century music, and research and bibliography in music at UMKC. He also team-teaches a course on medicine and music through the UMKC  School of Medicine’s  Stridge Office on Medical Humanities and Bioethics. He is also a current Vice-President of the College Music Society.

Dr. Everett is a recipient of numerous awards, including the 2003 Muriel Ewing Kauffman Award for Excellence in teaching, the N.T. Veatch Award for Outstanding Research and Creative Activity, and the 2009 Muriel Ewing Kauffman Award for Excellence in Research and Creative Activity.

 

Dan Stewart currently serves as Assistant United States Attorney in the Federal Court of the Western District of Missouri and Chief of National Security Unit. He worked as a Resident Legal Advisor, Belgrade, Serbia in 2006-2008 and an attaché at U.S Embassy in Belgrade. While at the embassy he worked with Department of State, USAID, as well as Serbian law enforcement and government agencies. Dan was chief of the General Crime Unit in 1991-2006, and dealt with prosecution of economic crime, corruption, and violent crime cases.  He graduated from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and the Northwestern Law School, Chicago. Dan is married to Linda Stewart, who was formerly a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and investigator for the Missouri Department of Mental Health.

 

Michael J. Cazares is a financial manager and a non-profit advisor. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University as a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration and management. He is a member of the Board of Directors in Sanctuary of Hope Retreat Center. He is also a member of the SMILES program development, where he works with students and staff at Bishop Miege High School and the staff at Gordon Parks to develop a youth led program (SMILES) to mentor students by reinforcing the school’s character education program through in class presentation.  He was a Hispanic Ministry founder/coordinator in the Church of the Holy Cross and a founder/coordinator of the Teens Acting for Peace (TAP).

 

Jana Webb is currently Counsel at Sprint Nextel Corporation. She completed her JD degree at the University of Miami School of Law, Florida. As a native of Saint Joseph, Missouri, she returned to the Midwest shortly after graduation, where she worked as a corporate associate for Husch Blackwell LLP and counseled clients in the areas of general corporate law, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, international transactions and import/export issues. She focused on her undergraduate studies in international business and business administration. One of her most profound experiences as an undergraduate student at Graceland University was her participation during a winter session in an Outreach International project located in Nicaragua.
